Alexander & Hill was founded by Diana H. Day more than 20 years ago, to focus her management consulting capabilities on planning and evaluation for government and nonprofit clients.  Over the years, our services have grown to encompass five practice areas:

              • project and program assessment
              • performance communications
              • accountability systems
              • long-range planning
              • change management.

At Alexander & Hill, Ms. Day is responsible for planning, organizing and delivering on each engagement.  Prior to founding Alexander & Hill, Ms. Day managed consulting engagements for Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co. (now KPMG) and developed business plans for the Health Care Division of Sears World Trade.  She also served as Executive Director of the Michigan Governor’s Advisory Commission on the Regulation of Financial Institutions and completed project evaluations for the Village Polytechnic Programme of the Government of Kenya.

Ms. Day earned a Masters degree in Business Administration from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Smith College.   Her security clearance was last updated by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in 2006.

Alexander & Hill was the brainchild of George Alexander Lehner, Sr. and Diana Hill Day, who dreamed of combining his expertise in creative engineering with her experience in management consulting, to form a premier boutique consulting organization.  When the time came to make the dream a reality, Mr. Lehner was no longer in a position to participate.  Ms. Day founded the firm in Alexandria, Virginia as a continuation of her career in management consulting, keeping the original name in honor of her father-in-law.
